Very good food and a really fun place to visit. Be quick with your order though. They don’t have time for you to wait around. Share the fries the order is huge. Floors are real slick so watch your step. Food is amazing.

Best potato casserole. Howard had the were fantastic. The burnt ends were fantastic, different from what I am used to. The brisket's smoke was great, unfortunately the meat was dry. I am not a fan of barbeque sauce on brisket. I love the smoke and don't like to hide the flavor. Howard loved the coleslaw It was worth the wait and money. Our first time fir Kansas City BBQ.

Incredible ribs! The food was spectacular all around. Great meat. Great sides. I went with a large group of 40 people, and they were extremely hospitable to us by giving us a little extra to help feed everyone. Incredible service. Incredible food. Great price. You cannot go wrong by eating here

First time in Kansas City and was told I had to try Arthur Bryant's before I left. The food was amazing. The barbecue ribs are so tender, and skin on the back of the rib has an amazing snap when you bite into it. Great portions, very reasonably priced. The bathroom has narrow entry, old building, very outdated, not in great shape, but I feel like that adds to its charm. It got crowded quick, and they had great Blues music playing.

This is a long established business in Kansas City. So established I don't think they can change an institution of sorts. Unfortunately as a vegatarian on the edge of being vegan there is absolutely nothing I can eat at this place. I would love for them to join the modern age maybe team up with the vegan butcher in Minneapolis and start the first line of vegan ribs in Kansas City. As more people get away from eating animals they could be the trend setter. Until then I can not give them a good rating. Too many dead cows, pigs, and chickens. Surely some day Kansas City will be know for it's compassion and love of all living beings.

They have the best barbecue in town... ain't much to look at inside... the floors were real greasy I was wearing my boots I had to be careful not to slip but then again it was the end of the night and I get it that floors hadn't been mopped yet... the service was a little sloppy but hey you know when you got the best barbecue what can you say... yes yet I guess you get what you get and you'll like it... it was a little sleazy type joint for my taste but hey you know best BBQ in town... right

This was everything I was hoping it would be. A bunch of other BBQ places in KC area are more restaurant oriented (Jack Stack's, Q39, Char Bar, etc.), and there's nothing wrong with that. But I wanted to find a place that felt like a hole-in-the-wall, home-grown, block party type of place. He was before my time, I feel like the man Arthur Bryant could have been just my neighbor down the street who made amazing BBQ and now has a restaurant. Great place.

Arthur Bryant's

Arthur Bryant’s is a staple of Kansas City BBQ. It’s been a place that you can’t miss as a tourists, especially if you want to experience why our local BBQ is world renown. As a KC naive, I go about every six months when family or friends are in town. Upon my most recent visit with some friends from Florida, I was utterly embarrassed about the service. My wife ordered ribs and the man behind the counter very rudely told her they were out. I wasn’t a huge fan of the way he talked to my wife but no problem, I thought to myself. Maybe he was having a bad day. My wife proceeded to order something else on the menu. The man behind the counter barked back at her saying they’ve been out of that for hours and if she would have been paying attention to the person ordering in front of her, she would have known that. My wife and I were both shocked that he would talk to anyone like that, much less a customer. It was embarrassing to be treated like that in front of our friends and embarrassing to speak so highly of a place (as we were driving there) only to be treated like that. The reason I’m still giving them three starts is because Arthur Bryant is a KC tradition and I really, really want to give them the benefit of a doubt. I hope our latest experience there was an anomaly but it might be smart to prepare for some attitude as you deal with the staff.

We had the half slab, and two meat combo sandwich with brisket and pulled pork, and sides of fries and coleslaw. And HOLY $&@# at the portions. It was enough to feed a small country. The ribs were awesome. Great wood smoked flavor and super tender. The pulled pork was saucy and moist, and the brisket had that same great wood smoke flavor as the ribs. The fries had good flavor, and the coleslaw was perfect for putting on a pulled pork sandwich. Super creamy and just a little runny so it mixes into the pork. Yum. The sauces were good with Original being the preferred and Sweet Heat a close runner up. Things we weren’t 100% on; just not a huge fan of thin sliced brisket because we feel like it’s a way to disguise dry meat, and it takes away from the overall flavor and texture. The pork was great, but I’d rather be able to taste the meat first and add sauce myself, and while fries had good flavor, they were a little soft for me. I would prefer them more crispy. (Again these things are personal preference, not a real complaint). This was the best BBQ we have had in a long time. If this is what we had up in WA state, I would not be upset.
