They didn't have any hot sauce at the restaurant. Having breakfast there was not a good way to start my day. I don't recommend it. The staff is overly too familiar, trying to have a conversation while i am here to eat not to make friends

Hello everyone i would like to share an incident that occurred at this hotel. i am giving them a chance to resolve issue. i am hoping they would resolve it. i will be back to post how they did good or did not care. i stayed in rooms 620 and 622 with friends there from may 21 to may 24 last week.

If you are used to US standards for hotel accommodations, this is not a place for you. First, do not come early, they will charge a hefty amount to check-in early. Second if you book a regular room you will not get the best treament, instead you will be told many, many restrictions. Third, for a three day weekend they scored perfect having something missing in the room, everything looked awfully ractioned. This hotel is in just the low level of average, not bad not good either

Really enjoyed my stay and the highlight was definitely the pool besides cleanliness of my room. Security could be overburdening at times but guess it’s a good thing ..just feel like they were always looking over my shoulders

Barcelo Hotel in Santo Domingo is a good choice if you want to be close to every posible place in the city. Right across from the Metro station and a few blocks away from hospitals, the theather, several museums, banks and everything you might need. It is not a luxury hotel but it is clean and confortable.

Not enough of the staff speak English and those at the front desk were unable to find a reservation due to a lack of English. It is near a busy street, so there is a lot of road nice while sleeping. The building and rooms were in good repair.

I will never come back to this hotel again my cousin did surgery and his friends and family wanted to see him and they was trying to charge us $50 per person to come and see him my daughter came with her mom they wanted to charge us $50 for me to see my daughter I did not have the money I had to stay outside in the hot sun with my daughter and call her uber for her to go back home that is very disappointing I will never book this hotel again but they have people from the outside coming asking you do you want females to have sex with but they won't let my guests come in that is very disappointing I will never ever recommend this hotel for anyone this could be the last hotel in the world I would rather sleep on the side of the road I would never rent this hotel again neverr!!!!!!

So my reasoning as to why there is a 1 star rsting is due to the fact that they want to charge 50 dollars to have a friend visit during the day. Never in all my travels have i experienced anything of this magnitude. Now I can see if my friend was spending the night, but that wasnt the case. So I will not recommend this hotel to anyone else, nor will I stay at this hotel again. I shall be more than happy to give my money to another hotel that's more accomodating. This has a terrible choice of hotel for my first visit to the Dominican Republic. My next visit, as stated earlier will be at a better choice of hotel.
