Unfortunately, we stopped in for a 1 night stay on our way to California. Without a doubt, this Best Western had to have been the worst experience of our travels. Upon arrival, we were unable to park close to registration because of double parked cars and had to park a great distance from the entrance. Had to wait in line for 1/2 hour to check in. After checking in, I requested a cart to carry our luggage to the room because we were parked a great distance way out in the parking lot. They denied me the use of a cart saying “We don’t loan them to customers!” Therefore, I had to make multiple trips back and forth between our vehicle and the room. Getting to our room necessitated that we walk a great distance, from our vehicle, through the Casino which was filled with smoke and smelled to high heaven!! The room was mediocre to say the least!! Extremely difficult to take a shower because the handle on the shower diverter was falling off. So dissatisfied with the customer service and room, I cancelled our reservation for our return trip. Definitely will find someplace else to stay the next time we travel through Reno, NV.

Lobster Buffet

New owners a few years ago and prices went sky high. Service went way low. The cheap Thursday buffet is great if you love ribs. Otherwise just okay. Cheaper than fast food is why I go to eat. But won't stay overnight anymore. Used to go twice a year. Now it's the Nugget in Sparks.

The desk staff and porters were excellent and so was the parking. However the meals in the 'Steak House' were very overpriced and so was the buffet. Downtown Reno casinos provided far better options at much lower prices. Their 'members' card is a joke that provided nothing for us as we did not loose a ton of money. They allow smoking everywhere which choked us out so that kept our wallets closed. On Sunday we spent over an hour playing the machines and never once were we asked if we wanted a drink. I took their 'free' drink coupon to the bar and asked for a Corona and was told 'No', the coupon was only good for a small glass of draft. This place did nothing to excite us except if you are pulling a big rig, like us, it is super convenient to the I80. They said Dog Friendly and then after we were all disconnected from our trailer and checking in the clerk asked how much our three legged dog weighed. There was a 30lb limit which is not on their website or the Best Western App. We lied and asked how we could bring in our lab through a back door while they looked the other way. There are so many better options in Reno than this place.

I really Enjoyed our stay here! Our rooms were clean, the service providers were generous with extra towels and were very friendly when asked about the restaurants! We also had a very nice stay with a lot of considerate people staying in the same floor...not at all like some hotels that have some people slamming doors shut or very loud conversations in the hallway between ajointing rooms. We had a Wonderful stay and will be back again!

And over there with my wife and walk in the hotel and looked around. We did not actually stay there we went into Reno. The place looked nice and clean. Spend some time in the bar which was well stocked and the bartender was cheerful and attentive. My staff look busy and efficient. It is a nice well-maintained place and even for wait days they seem to be quite a lot of people there

The hotel smelled old and musty, lots of smoke. Bad air filtration system. The hallways smelled musty and the carpets were not clean. The room was decent, the A/C was really loud so had to turn up the TV to hear it. You could hear everything that was going on in the hallways. All night long The steakhouse was like a diner, it was nice but loud. The food was average. The waitstaff that served us was extremely nice including the busboy.

Housekeeping needs to be retrained. The hotel visit was fine, but not thrilled to find ?? spots on the toilet seat. The shower still had shampoo or cream rinse in the corner of the shower. Whoever cleaned the room before us must have long hair as there was two strands of hair in the sink. I was left with one roll of toilet paper, in the back, so I moved it forward. The next morning, I had the bathroom counter totally cleared off of my stuff so it would be easier for them to clean. Waste of my time. But, I called with the basic complaint and they did offer to switch me or they would have housekeeping come up. I chose the 2nd offer and the gentleman was fantastic.

Lobster Buffet

Had the lobster buffet on a Friday. The lobster was over cooked and tough. $37 for an adult is insulting. Not many things tasted home-made. The pecan pie had a tang to it that said it wasn't from scratch. The veggies in the salad bar were old and dried out. I had to serve myself steak and sausage because there was no one around. $19 for children 9 to 12! My son and I barely made it to the fun center before we both had diarrhea. Mel's breakfast was good. $50 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Could have been a lot better experience. People were nice!

Had a blast at the Fun Center! The clown throw game is the best to rack up tickets! Also this continues to be the best Mels diner I have eaten. There is lots of parking for RVs down to small cars. The staff are always very nice and helpful.

We stopped off at Boomtown on our way home from Reno to grab a coffee and a restroom break. The facility is really clean and not that horrible smokey smell some casino's have. Would like to spend more time there next time. Also, winning $850 on the Walking Dead slot machine didn't hurt either! Would recommend!
