I hate to do this but I have to give one star. I was there about 30 minutes ago. There was only one employee which was fine because it's a small establishment, but she was standing just outside the rear entrance smoking a cigarette and doing stuff on her phone. I stood there with a drink and ready to order and watched her for about 5 minutes hoping she would come inside, but she would just look right at me and then look back down at her phone. I eventually put down my drink and went back to my car.
She had sunglasses on. Maybe she didn't see me? Maybe she just didn't feel like serving me? I have no idea. I'm a local and this was my first time going there, but I'm afraid this was also my last.

The food here is absolutely delicious and always made fresh to order! The French fries are always cut fresh when you order them and the pit beef sandwich here is one of the best I've ever had! Even though it's not always available because it's hard for them to keep up with the demand, the pulled pork BBQ sandwich is to die for! If it's not available when I come in, I regularly check for it and most times they have it when I return. It is a small place and normally only run by one person, but very few times do I have to wait long for my food. The staff is very friendly, quick, and accurate when producing their delicious works of art! Highly recommended!

The food at this place is out of this world and the home made chips are fantastic! I try something new every time, and I've loved each different item.

ok, the food poisoning allegation made by ThePixar Theorist makes no sense. The food in question was french fries and pulled pork. First of all, potatoes can be eaten raw so food poisoning from raw potatoes? Impossible. How does one get food poisoning from pulled pork that clearly has to be cooked for several, and I mean SEVERAL hours, for the meat to pull apart like pulled pork should? Raw pulled pork wouldn't be shredded and just by sight alone you wouldn't have caught me dead putting it in my mouth. I personally know one of the girls who works at the deli and I know that any of their pit meats, beef, pork, or otherwise, is cooked for NO LESS than 18 hours. Calling total BS on the food poisoning!

My dad and I passed through this small town on our way to the Antietam battlefield. Awesome deli with amazing food!! Definitely will come back again when nearby.
