WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. If you are considering taking a cruise do not book through them. Our family just returned from a seven day cruise and ended up paying a lot of money for a lot of heartache. We cruised with them 10 years ago and it was great, but this cruise line has gone so far downhill. It was so bad, I felt I needed to come right back and post a review to save someone the heartache. Yes, we did talk to them and try to work things out many times on the cruise. If you are considering a cruise, please, PLEASE consider any other cruise line for your own sake, your family’s sake, and for the sake of the group that you are traveling with. I would not even give it one star if that were a choice.

This was my first cruise and it was the worst experience every. Let me be clear the staff and house keeping was amazing. But for the management staff it was 5 DAYS OF BROKEN PROMISES. It was supposed to be a 7 day cruise to Cabo San Lucas for 2 days and Puerto Vallarta for a day. When everything was said and done the final options were San Diego for 6 hours and Ensenada for 1 day. Now I'm traveling back to Long Beach on a bus. My biggest complaint and the only reason I'm give this review is because the sent a letter to everyone aboard the ship on 6-12-18 promising a 200 dollar credit to every room and 50% future cruise and said it would be a plied the morning of the 13th. When going to the front desk the morning of the 13th after thinking I was getting free drinks due to the 200 dollar credit I was informed the were no longer give that to anyone who choose to get of in San Diego. Trying to get us to stay the HD of the ship had promised everyone who stay on a 100% discount on any further cruise no matter the location when trying to sign up for that offer I was informed again that we were misinformed on how it would work and we would have to pay difference of the future Cruise.

Carnival Elation Remodeled (2018) Not Spectacular But Still Pretty Good. I think the Carnival Elation is ranked where most people rank it (low end but still a pretty good time). You don't meet many people who hated their cruise wherever they have been. I think all the rumors that Carnival is good but not great would be accurate. Unfortunately for them the bar was set pretty high for this trip as the previous cruise was on the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas (one of the best boats I have been on). Food: The food was pretty good but not great. The "Guys Burgers" was amazing on the first day. The meat, condiments, and break were just perfect. Then after the first day the buns were stale and that ruined it for me. I usually steer clear of the buffet unless we are running out of time, but on the day or two I did eat there I was not disappointed. I was very surprised that one two occasions they served roasted lamb (one of my favorites) and it was cooked really well. The dining meals (breakfast and dinner) were pretty good but not great. The one breakfast I had was a bit slow but hey you're on vacation. Boat: The boat was okay. It newly renovated and I was pleased with the room. I think the layout of the boat could have been done a little differently. Sometimes I felt like you were forced to go through the smoky casino just to get to where you were going. Sometimes it felt like you had to go down or up just to get to the dining hall. My biggest gripe with the boat was the lack of entertainment. For me the boat is often the entertainment and I could care less about the worthless stops (think Freeport in the Bahamas). This boat does not have a lot to do in the way of entertainment. They have an adult pool, two hot tubs, the kids slides, the casino, some shows, two ping pong tables (with plastic balls), boccie ball, and put put. To me this is the first time on a boat that I actually was getting bored. The shows were pretty good as well just not top notch. Service: The service was pretty good but then again I don't think I have ever had poor service on a boat. As usual the international staff fall all over themselves to try to please you and you love them to death by the end of the cruise. If you are on a budget or aren't too concerned with the entertainment on the boat then this might be for you.

I have no specific complaints as it pertains to the actual cruise ship experience. This is more centered towards their customer service representatives. With a high degree of certainty I can say that of the 5-7 people that I’ve spoken to (whether I called in or they called me) roughly half do a horrendous job at acting like they could give 2 craps about you & your booking. They have little to no patience and you better not ask too many questions or request if they can explain something further. That causes them to use a special skill called, “Fake polite service”, in which they use soothing words but in a patronizing/condescending way because they want you off the phone as soon as possible. There is only ONE person that I spoke to who was genuinely professional and sounded like he valued his job & didn’t hate it like all his co-workers.

Less expensive than staying on the strip. And if you plan to walk the strip from one end to the other it makes a great starting point. Just across from MGM Grand Hotel. Friendly staff and lovely Hooters Girls. Stop in for the wings, stay to relax at the pool

I've been on 4 cruises with carnival and their customer service is horrendous. My wife called to book and the representative booked the wrong date. Then booked the wrong room. Then after my wife had specifically said that this was for our honeymoon he set it up as an engagement. Sadly this was the last straw of the many incidents with booking carnival. Oh and he never sent the email with the booking information. I could go on for days about how terrible carnival has gotten.
