Wonderful bakery! Have tried many things from there and everything had been excellent! Have had lemon bars, pumpkin and apple bread, carrot cupcakes, chocolate cake, coconut cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Everyone is very pleasant inside as well! I visited from Florida and I wish we had one of these down there!! It's a must visit if you are in the city.

I have enjoyed the Carrot Tree however on Mother's Day my son and were, what I felt, rushed through our meal because closing time was coming up. And my eggs benedict was cold. Today my husband and I stopped for a late lunch with our arrival and seating at 2pm. We placed our order and observed our watress taking several others' orders at two/ three nearby tables. At 2:45 we still had not been served but those that placed orders after us were and eating. The wait staff avoided us, no one came by to check on us, not an apology on any delay was offered. We finally stood up at 3pm, then the wait staff came over but my husband said we were leaving after an hour of waiting for our food I still don't know where it was. There was NO apology, NO food, no one came to say we would not be charged, NOTHING! Either cut the menu down, increase kitchen staff but this place needs work. We should have known we were in trouble when we ordered a Bloody Mary and were told they "gave up" their ABC license. I'm sorry we previously enjoyed this restaurant but we will not be back until management makes some serious changes. We finally got our lunch at another nearby restaurant within 15 minutes of placing our order, what I think can certainly be expected for lunch. It was fresh, hot and delicious.

Just happened to call and order a cake, person answered so rudely to me that I decided to take my business elsewhere. However, I was willing to travel 1.5 hours away. Never again will I patronize a business that speaks this way to me when the distance and time it's takes for me to come to your store. The owner of this business needs to monitor the customer service of her staff. If you don't want to work stay home and let some have a job that really deserves it. Please hire people that are customer friendly!

A nice hometown dining establishment. Sort of like an upscale diner. Friendly, clean. A place to see lots of locals. Food is just OK. Smaller portions, no frills, prices a little high for the quality. The best thing they have going for them is their desserts!

Have ordered take out from Jamestown store and dined in the Yorktown store. Chicken salad wrap and potato salad were very good. My friend enjoyed the carrot salad and the wrap she had.. Carrot cake was delicious...Yorktown has a small quaint shop with a few tables inside and tables outside..shop is near York River...Jamestown is in a shopping center and larger restaurant..parking was difficult the day I ordered take out. Definitely will go back to Yorktown again.

We stopped here for lunch after going to the American Revolution Museum nearby. The Riverwalk area was adorable and this little gem tucked in the back center of the area was very cute and the food was fresh and delicious. The server was a little overworked but very friendly and did a great job trying to keep up with a lunch rush. I had a chicken salad wrap with potato salad and my husband had a turkey and Brie croissant with strawberries and almonds. Both were very good. Fresh and filling but light. We had a piece of the carrot cake and it was very moist, not overly sweet and delicious!!
