I have been here a few times and have never had a good experience. The people at the desk are slow. By the time I get to the front of the line, they are telling me to hold on and running off to god knows where. I takes at least 10min to get a drink, no matter where you order it, and they DO NOT handle situations properly. An example of this is I was playing one night and at the table behind me I overheard a fight. When I looked behind me, one player had pulled a knife on another. The staff came down to the table and broke up the fight, but instead of banning the player with the knife, they just made him put his knife in the car and let him return to the table. When I asked, they said he was the boyfriend of the dealer and he was just messing around. This is outrageous and this player is still playing there!!! I will never play poker at a club that allows this. Poker is fun, but not worth my life.

I love this place. It has a very class atmosphere and comfortable chairs. The tournaments are decently sized (30-50) on average I'd guess. I play there several times a month. The larger guaranteed tournaments and Sundays free roll can get well past 100 people. The staff is great in my opinion and this place is full of opportunity. Love it!

This is a low-class place, with poor management and quirky rules. Two drunks at my table were loud and obnoxious and neither the dealer (who flubbed a few deals) or management did anything about it, despite complaints, from me and others. At one point I said, loud and firmly, to one of the guys to "Shut the !@@#@ up", and he was quiet, for about ten seconds. So I picked up my chips, about $400, and started toward the front desk to cash them in, only to be told that I couldn't do that, as technically everyone playing there was playing in a tournament -- first time I heard that, in any card room, and I've been in many dozen all over the country. Because it was so poorly run, I did not trust leaving my chips unattended on the table, so I had to wait twenty minutes to even leave the table and cash in. What crap.

It is now closed due to changes in Oregon social gaming laws. Portland Meadows is the next best spot.

I must admit I have not played here much. Maybe 10 hours combined through the four of five times I've visited. Here are some of my key takeaways. 1) On the days they have their "secret" $1,000 added freerolls, they are flat out slammed and don't have enough staff to help the line that eventually extends up the stairs and out on to the street. 2) This isn't a friendly club like The Players Club or Big Stack Players Club, don't expect the dealers, players, or managers to see you as anything more than a walking $10 bill. 3) But on the positive review side, this is the nicest looking club in Portland. And with a full restaurant and bar, you might think for a second that you were in an actual casino and not a "social gaming club".

This is the premiere poker club. I have played in all of the poker clubs and PDX poker provides the best value for your money. They provide weekly tournament specials with large 100+ player fields during those days. The staff is friendly and the dealers are top notch. Not to mention the amazing food and beer selection. I will play here over any other club in town.

** SAFETY DANGER ** A downright scary place with unsavory patrons and dealers. Saw a female dealer go on break, take all her tips, enter a game, lose every last dollar in 2 hands, then go back to work dealing with a scowl on her face that would make Ghandi weep. After I won a tournament there (about $1400) and was tipping out the dealers, a patron (obviously friends of a dealer) threatened to 'follow me out to my car' if I didn't tip more. He feigned getting up out of his chair as he said this. Alerted management...they did nothing. I don't do these types of 'for your safety' reviews but this place is absolutely not safe. I will never, ever return to this place.

I frequent this poker club and was compelled to write a review. This is the best poker club in Portland, OR by far. I especially like decent sized tournaments (30-50 players on average) with relatively affordable buy-ins ($30-$60). Due to the Oregon's Social Gaming law, 100% of the prize pool is distributed back to the players which is great, as opposed to say Las Vegas where 20-30% of the prize pool goes to the house. They also have full bar and restaurant. Great, friendly staff and central location (downtown)!
