Glenview Park

This is one of the best places to take your family. You can walk the paths and run into deer, you can sit and meditate. You must go into the main building to see one of the oldest living creatures. Beside that you can watch snakes eating fish, other fish swimming around and eating what they can, or you can see the turtle pool with tons of turtles. If you’re lucky you might see some live birds as well. Don’t forget to visit the Indian village and market. I’ve been going there for over thirty years and still love seeing it all. They used to have civil war reenactments there as well.

Glenview Park

The Grove is by far my favorite nature preserve in the area. The prairies are gorgeous. We always see lots of wildlife and they have an amazing interpretive center for learning and animals. With it's historical buildings, you really feel transported back to the late 19th century. The Grove hosts many special events such as the Fall Folk Festival, Vintage Market, and Pioneer Day. In November they turn all of their buildings into a fabulous holiday craft fair that will definitely get you into the holiday spirit!

Glenview Park

This place is a gem. We bring our young children here when we can. They love the displays and animals in the nature center. The outdoor displays are also fantastic. The walking trails are easy for all ages and are well-maintained. It is pretty much all accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. There is no admission fee or parking fee, but they really deserve whatever donation you can give.

Glenview Park

Great place! Lots of history. I’ve been going there since I was a kid and back in 2015 my wife and I got married there! Super historic place and a great nature preserve. Booking prices for events are SUPER reasonable. The place is clean in terms of events and ground cover. Great place to take the kids to learn about wildlife and be outdoors. They run events frequently and have a great re-enactment event in late summer. If you’ve never been or if you’re debating having an event there you should do it.

Glenview Park

Free parking and free admission. Took the kids here for a short visit on a Saturday afternoon in April. It was raining and we spent about an hour in the Interpretive Center. It's like a small zoo with turtles, snakes, birds, and fish. Kids really enjoyed seeing the animals up close. Staff was very nice and excited to show off the snakes and turtles up close.

Glenview Park

Awesome place to go to and walk around. Inside of the place there are plenty of creatures to see. They have this huge tank with a huge alligator turtle in it and it's over 100 years old if not more. It's a massive and incredible animal to see, you gotta see it to believe, I've never seen anything that big before.
