Great hotel but you can tell the rooms have been used. My husband and I got a spa sweet with a jetted tub. The tub's attachment did not work, the carpet is coming up in one spot and the foot board is warn. These are only cosmetic things so we had a great time anyways

My family of six (kids and adults) would come here several times a year. Main reason you ask? The all you can eat crab legs! The prime rib was great as well. Over the past couple of years, we've noticed a decline in the quality of food but again, the crab legs kept us coming back. Our 10 year old (who was 4 at the time) learned how to crack open crab legs here. Many great memories. We went there tonight, not thinking to look at the website (because after coming so often, why would I). We were turned away because of our kids. All patrons now must be 21 and over. Why? They had no explanation. Just a rude man who was on a power trip. Ameristar has lost our business for good.

It is a fancy hotel, and the employees are nice and the room is big with a comfortable bed. But the garden bath looks to have not been scrubbed for a while as there is grime all over it. Also, I understand that room service is expensive, but they tack on a service fee on top of the room service prices, plus add the tip in without telling you either of the fees were being added. I wish they hadn't because I was going to tip the guy more than the 18% that they added on. The buffet is as much as room service, but its quality is below par too. I was expecting a luxury experience, but really think I just paid for a giant dirty tub. Disappointing.

Just about the only kids friendly casino resort in Colorado, but just barely. Blackjack tables have higher denominations to keep cheaper players out. Rules are not the most liberal, but acceptable for strategy playing. Staff are professional and restaurants have good service. Rooms are nice, and so is the exercise room. It's a great place for gaming or just to relax. UPDATE: no longer allow children into the buffet. Could of made an alternative entrance, but it appears they are discouraging family clienteles.

Gotten too big for their own good. Some of the staff is OK, but for the most part they don't care how they treat guests. Example: I asked a pit boss a question about my play and if I now qualified for a promotion. She said, "you'll need to check with the cage on that," and told me which direction to go. When I got there, no one was in line so they certainly didn't feel rushed to 'help' other patrons. It appeared a younger person was being trained as an older person standing behind her asked me to step forward. I told her I'd been sent to the cage by the pit and asked about the promotion. "With table play tracking you'll need to ask a pit supervisor." I reminded her I'd been sent to her BY a pit supervisor and she replied, "and what I'm telling you is you have to ask them." Not only was WHAT she said rude on its face from a customer service perspective, but she delivered it in a very haughty, condescending manner -- and this was the presumed trainer!

Vegas style casino in the mountains. Tables are usually set at $10 minimums or higher so you need some cash to actually play here. Maximum bet is capped at $100 so it is hard to make a come back if you lose early. Buffet has gone way down hill over the years. I do not recommend eating here due to the service and quality of food that is provided.
