Same thing every year. If your from the area you will see pretty much everybody you’ve ever met. Lol. It can be a lot of fun. Way Over priced for everything. Fights between locals every year it seems. Lots of venders and exhibits. Parking can be a serious issue.

If you love rides, corn dog and any food on a stick. If you love to people watch, see the shows or enjoy wandering thru the crafts, displays and many animal barns then you will love the fair. You have to go down the giant slide or you just didn't go. Don't forget to click like if the review helps

I think it is a fun place but don't have time to explore it more. Seems to me an immigrant has a lot of old fashioned stuff which I think probably you can find and feel tradition of us here (including the fair itself). However to a city guy for life this is a little bit too much farming related which I feel hard to appreciate.

The fair grounds host various activities throughout the year. Various activities such as craft fairs, wedding parties, Christmas celebrations and most notably, The Illinois State fair. The fairground itself is modest in most of its features. The building maintenance is about average for fairgrounds. Getting around the fairgrounds is easy. Parking is adequate, except during The Illinois State Fair, during which it is woefully lacking. Fortunately, there are blocks and blocks of yards surrounding the fair with attendants selling spots to park during that time of year. Its strange because: What could ever go wrong with handing a stranger without any permit or registration money and then leaving your car in a random persons yard? Then again some consider that gamble part of the fun of going to the fair.

This fair is part of who I am. I live for August..."fair time"! The music is plenty and the beer flows freely. The only negative thing is this year they certainly did not think about the wine growers if Illinois, the poor people were pushed to the side,making it hard to find them. That's a huge mistake on the organizers part because A WHOLE LOT OF FOLKS loved going to the venue in the Artisan's bldg to support and sample the ??
