Squaxin Island Seafood Bar

Really good seafood selection. Oysters, clams, mussels served and prepared by a team that knows shellfish and how to prepare it. The crab bisque is a winner as is the New England clam chowder. The seafood saute is excellent, just be hungry to finish! Decent beer selection. Small room so you may have to wait a bit but well worth it.

Squaxin Island Seafood Bar

Absolutely amazing! So good my wife and I just made plans for our third trip here this month (and we don’t gamble). The trio appetizer is hands down the best deal in the NW. This is followed by the hardest working staff around. They are super busy all the time so be patient if you have to, the wait is beyond worth it. And by the way, the crab cakes are probably the best on the entire west coast if not the best in the country!

Squaxin Island Seafood Bar

I might stand nearby just to smell the fresh ocean aura. Delicious food, gracious service and some non-seafood selections with nice wine. People stand in line for a reason 😀 The mussels were the most perfectly steamed I’ve ever tasted.

Squaxin Island Seafood Bar

We live just a short drive away from the Little Creek Casino and although we are not gamblers, we visit from time to time just to get the shrimp saute at this casino restaurant. I find casinos too smoky so we don't usually visit them, but we discovered this restaurant by meeting family there and we have been hooked ever since. It is super small and you often have to wait for a seat at the bar... there is no table seating. There is a little trough all along the edge of the bar where all the shellfish shells and crackers wrappers go, so if that makes you queasy, this isn't your place. We tried the saute on our first visit and we have been so hooked on it that we have never ordered anything else. You have your choice of sauces (we always get the Thai Peanut 4 stars - we like it hot). We always share one dish between the two of us, along with a bowl of clam chowder. The portion is huge! You get 1/2 lb of shrimp and veggies for $19 or a lb for $29. We have done both, and honestly I think I like it with just a 1/2 lb better - more crisp veggies is more my taste. The sauce is amazing! Service hasn't been good or bad.... just average, we go just for the food! Tip..... If you don't like casino smoke park at the event center / hotel entrance and enter there - you will not have to walk through the smoky casino.
