First time stay, but won’t be back. The positives include friendly staff, good food, and non-smoking casino. The resort in general looks and smells old. The lodge rooms are rough. There is nothing “lodge” like or mountain like about this whole place. When booking our rooms the lodge rooms appear to be very similar to the tower rooms... we just thought they were a different style or decor, not a different part of the rest of the hotel. The website is deceiving about this. Had we known there would be such a drastic difference the few extra bucks would have been well spent on the tower rooms. We asked if we could switch to a tower room, but were told they were full and were not offered to be informed if one became available. The lodge rooms were comparable to staying at a cheap motel. The rooms severely need updating. The furniture is beat up, walls dirty and chipped, the sheets had blood stains on them, the pillows smelled like sweat and were very uncomfortable and the coffee was not stocked. It appeared the room was half cleaned after the last guests checked out. We were grossed out. It got worse. The walls were paper thin and we could literally hear everything in the surrounding rooms. The air conditioner sounded like an air plane taking off. The horse races only occur Sunday-Thursday. They had some fun slot machines, but they were tight. All the “big win” announcements were 1-2k. The WiFi is weak and I had to turn it off and use my data. Overall, disappointing stay. I think the hotel room had a lot to do with that, but there are too many other resorts to visit to go back to this one.
