Rude hostess and waitress
Food maybe great but we’ll never know. Rude hostess set us in the door to the casino where my husband was hit with a cane as a old man came too close to our table. Several people passed with inches of our table within a couple of minutes of being seated. We then move to the next closest table. Now we have a waitress demanding we move to a smaller table. She could have offered assistance to move but didn’t. Informed we had to tell the hostess. Again would have been quicker for her to assist but she didn’t. We went ahead and moved and my son in law went to tell the hostess we moved. Long story short the hostess was extremely rude to my son in law and we ended up leaving. Been coming to the rally for over ten years and the hostess and waitress were the rudest we ever had. If you want a good experience go somewhere else.

I really love this hotel and casino- smells great, like a Vegas casino. (No smoking☺️) Very comfortable, clean, fairly new. Great restaurants. Very nice people, will stay here whenever I go back to Deadwood South Dakota.

Fun gaming machines. Cocktail service should have been better. Didn't come around very often and could have been more friendly. Oggies restaurant server was great! She was very friendly and went out of her way to make sure we had a good experience. Wings and pizza were excellent! Onion rings greasy, too thick of batter and need to cook them longer. They use to be the best in Deadwood?

We had a wonderful experience all thanks to the gentleman at the front desk named Logan. Logan took his time checking us in and ensured we had a good stay. He genuinely cared about making sure we had a pleasant stay. I am from Seattle, WA and have traveled all over but I have never had such exceptional customer service. Thank you Logan for being a kind person and treating us so well!

Had a conference in this lodge. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Conference area and rooms were exactly what we needed. Great food on-sight but also not very far from the town of Deadwood. Wildlife literally out front eating the grass. Very nice people and place to visit.

Oggie's Sports Bar and Emporium

I will preface this review by saying that my first three nights at the Lodge were positive. However, a horrible experience on my fourth and last day/night there completely ruined my overall stay and disintegrated my positive opinion of the hotel. I stayed in the hotel. I did not use the casino- and I found the casino portion of the Lodge to be seedy. The casino clientele were equally seedy. On Sunday late morning, I was walking outside of the Lodge with my young child when two casino goers approached me and insulted my physical appearance- they repeated their insults not once, but twice. I initially did not respond because it was such a stupid comment. Ultimately I decided to respond. Here's where the Lodge comes in. I reported their verbal harassment to the casino manager and to the hotel receptionists. A receptionist responded that since these were guests of the casino, the hotel portion of the Lodge was not responsible for their behavior and couldn't do anything. Well if that isn't the WORST response in the history of customer service, I don't know what is! The receptionist is mistaken, however, as it is the responsibility of the hotel to maintain a safe and harassment-free environment for guests. The casino and hotel are essentially the same: they are interconnected, share an entrance/exit, and common lobby. In addition, guests have to walk through the casino in order to reach the hotel restaurants and hotel conference center. So the casino is indistinguishable from the hotel space such that the hotel is absolutely liable for actions of casino guests. The lack of customer service and the "shrug, I don't care" attitude is completely disgraceful. Even if the hotel cannot do anything (which of course, is not true), a good receptionist who values hotel guests would have responded along the likes of "i'm so sorry you had that bad experience, what can i do to help?" I would have been better off sleeping in my rental car.

Loved this hotel when I stayed in Deadwood for a long weekend of snowboarding. They upgraded our rooms to king suites and still only charged us $79 (hey, never hurts to ask!). The place is beautiful. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a hidden gem of a place in Deadwood. Our family enjoyed the water park. Guest laundry facilities was a plus. Their restaurant was wonderful. The room was complete with luxurious mattresses and a couch and recliner. One stop wonder for a family vacation in South Dakota
