Virgil's Real BBQ

We went with some good hopes that there would be some good BBQ in the area. How ever we were very dissappointed. For what I spent for two adults and two kids ($68) I would have rather spent extra money and drove up to Dinosaur BBQ. The flavor of the pulled pork and brisket were good and their sauces on the table were good as well. Their sweet tea was also really good, Brings me back to living down south where it’s the best. But that’s where the good part of the review ends. Service was sub par. The waitress came around to check on us but to get our food took way to long. Yes it was a Firday night but they were no where near full and not that busy that it should have taken as long as it did. We finally got our hushpuppies but when they came 5 out of 12 were hot the rest were not even room temp. The kids chicken tenders were chewy and the batter was soggy. For a kid to only eat one and half says something. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich but couldn’t eat it like a sandwich cause the bun was so soggy and greasy that just fell apart. I had the pick two pulled pork and brisket. The brisket was about 70% fat. Like I said before the flavor was good, but it wasn’t great bbq. The side of Mac and cheese was ok. Don’t even get the cheese grits, it had no flavor at all. The little thing of so called cornbread was a waste too. I know that I should have mentioned something to management about the issues but it took so long to get our food and everything that I was just ready to leave when done. All I can say it don’t waste your time and money here. We will not be back, and it’s such a disappointment too I really was hoping that it would have been so much better.

Virgil's Real BBQ

They promoted their BBQ is the best and my perception thought their food should be hotel's quality. But it's totally disappointed. Their baby back ribs & riblets were BURN and tough. All meat surfaces were charcoal color. I gave it two stars was because staff were friendly and their sides dishes (mashed potatoes & cornbread) were good, their sauces (blue cheese dip and the gravy) were very good too.

The Thursday buffet is great ! The quality of the food is very good and how can you beat the price. 4 of us for $35.90. They call it buy one get one free. One table was dedicated just for dessert. Didn't know about this until today. Will come back next Thursday.

Virgil's Real BBQ

My husband and I ate here on Valentine's Day! it was not packed even though we made reservations just in case. We chose a platter for two that came with Ribs, pulled pork, 1/4 a bbq chicken, brisket, two corn bread muffins, and two sides. we took home a big container of left overs, ordered hush puppies and drinks and our bill was maybe 50$. The waitress was friendly and the food was fantastic and fast. Well worth the money and we really enjoyed it!

Quick service. Southwestern burger good flavor, added some extra guacamole and chipotle may because it was a little thin. Cooked on the rare side of the medium rare but that is better than over cooked. Cornbread appetizer very good but could have been warmer to counteract the cold butter. My wife had the BBQ burger and the piece of BBQ I tasted was very good. Next time I will try their BBQ based on that one piece. Honey lemonade with honey jack was mixed to be flavorful and easily drinkable. Thank You

Virgil's Real BBQ

Had to be at the top of worst meals I've ever had! Ordered the brisket and Carolina chicken for 16.95. Brisket (3 pieces 1"-3" chicken was a very little pile) didn't cover a piece of bread. We all felt and got sick after wards. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Will NEVER go back. The wait was over an hour and really wasn't busy. I could go on and on about how bad it was. No recommendation from this couple.

Ribs so tough you couldn't chew. Chicken all bone with rubbery skin. We sent all the meat back and atavede the small sides (very small portions). We ate here previously and they were good. Luck of the draw..so good luck. Hit a goodnight if you're lucky. Margaritas and drinks are good. We complained but still ended up with a $40 bill for sides and 2 drinks.

Virgil's Real BBQ

I heard a rumour that bands are no longer going to be a thing a Virgil's, I really hope this is not true, I used to come with a group of like 15 people to eat dinner and watch Thompkins Drive!
