Old Rust bucket is a Barrel of fun if you have money to blow. Indoor smoking and plenty of people to place bets, bring a seat because seats are scarce and pregame before you go. In the end I went home richer. Good luck on your bets or break a leg.

We were first timers to Turfway and everybody was really helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant, where the staff was friendly and the food was okay. The people at the wager windows were patient with us and seemed genuinely happy for our wins. The beer choices outside the restaurant were very limited and the band only played 2 or 3 songs in the 3 hours we were there, but all in all we had a fun date night out.

A nice thoroughbred racing track with lots of indoor seating. Turfway only has a single track with a synthetic surface.
One of the most annoying things at Turfway is the drug addicted cigarette smokers are allowed to smoke indoors. The stench was rampant especially on the bottom floor. Everywhere you went indoors, the addicts were shamelessly smoking up the areas as if no one had the right to breath fresh air.
The food selection left a lot to be desired. They basically have hot dog type meals with chips or soft pretzels. The food lines were long and I spent over 20 minutes standing in line to buy junk food. I two soft pretzels I bought were tough and stale. Because there were plenty of adult beverage concession stands, there were no long waits for beer.
I'll be back for winter thoroughbred horse racing, but will eat BEFORE I go.

Turfway is always a fun time. We love Friday night with dollar bets, drinks and hot dogs and live bands, too! Even though the place is dated a renovation is announced and that will make it even better. Love the paddock, too which is so easy to see the horses saddled and jockeys mount. A great view of all the activities. Lots of families are there with their children so bit is a fun evening for families, too.
Go there for a fun time!

Never been to the race track but won many races on simulcast from Pueblo Colorado. This is one of my favorite tracks to play.

A great place to watch the races, no pay to park, and never a line (except to bet). I would love to see some larger races held at this track. I hear it used to be quite the sight in it's heyday. I also attend the smaller public events like the Beans Bash, the Polytrack races, and I've been to a concert here as well. I would have considered it for a formal wedding if I had married in the springtime.
