Review for Playa Chiquita Resort & Casino Review For Playa Chiquita Resort & Casino Google User Apr 8 '14 at 20:26 My wife and I just returned from the Wyndam Viva Tangerine resort April 1, 2014. No joke. Like you are doing right now, we read the reviews. I had to say we were nervous about what to expect. When we checked, it was about 50/50 if we were going to have a good time or not. Well...... my wife and I had a great time. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. The room although outdated, was very clean. No bugs. The food was basic but it was good and plentiful. The bread was wonderful. My favourate meal was the coconut chicken. We took our showers before dinner, lots of water although not overly hot. So, why the difference of people who didn't like it and the people who do? The reviews paint a good picture. If you are expecting a 5 star suite, you will be disapointed to find a motel 6 decor. The rooms were fancy once, but now are simple and basic. As for the service, I think we had great service because we tipped. Many people I noticed, did not tip. Keep in mind, this is third world country where the people are poor. Staff in many cases, only had one thing to offer and that is service. And they do know how to provide great service when they are motivated. No need to take a $7 ride to Cabarette, you can walk there via the beach in 10min. In Cabarette, there are lots of bars and places good places to eat. There are also little shops to visit. If you want chips etc... there is a grocery store in Cabarette that can provide you with much what you may need. It is much cheaper than the store in the resort. View full site to comment or like
