Review for Casino Pauma Review For Café Google User Dec 22 '18 at 4:13 3.5 Stars and "On the House" drinks! El Rey Restaurant (ERR) scores points on the whole for its' location on bustling Highway 76 and delectable cuisine. Someone was craving "Shredded Beef Tacos" and others desired a traditional bite en route up/down Palomar Mountain. This term "El Rey" translated means "The King." Walking in notice specials to the left on the chalk board and proceed through door to find lighted El Rey sign at counter. As dishes for a king would be, most are large enough to share---yes even the petite plates. Outdoor patio is the place to be (yes the kind Mariachis could serenade you on). A melodic, flowing waterfall imparts a tropical feeling and when cold, heaters are turned on to keep you and furry friends warm (see video/photos). Dogs are not jailed here. Huskies---and other breeds I imagine---enter through private patio entrance. A well-kept secret is free drinks "on the house" for four legged dogs. My heartfelt thanks to the Manager who came out to pet our dogs---superb service! No Tijuana-like interiors here. Actually ERR is an undeniably attractive dining venue with rainbow serape-tablecloths, placemats and non-plastic vessels for libations. Inside is decorated with historic photos and local area artifacts. El Rey Restaurant is elegant enough for a date or to serve as a basic beer stop for a cold "Corona" or two with friends. Bring family, pets, Madres and Padres to this restaurant for luscious Mexican cuisine fit for a most particular King/Queen. We visited three times over the last six to seven months and will return.
