Firekeepers is the best casino in southwest Michigan. Driving from the Lansing area, I prefer it to any other casinos with a 1-2 hour drive. While FK's does allow smoking like other casinos, this place actually has decent air ventilation unlike Soaring Eagle where you can barely even breathe when you walk in. Free, self-serve soft drinks/coffee/water. I only play craps, so that's the main experience I'll focus on. Table was nice and it had a good atmosphere. I believe there's 3 tables in all, with table minimums usually at $5. Even if people smoked at the table, the air ventilation in the building did a decent job of mitigating second-hand smoke. All the workers at the table were extremely nice and quite competent which was much appreciated. On the downside, the odds weren't the greatest though. Hardway odds are poor and rigged even further in the House's favor. The Field bet is poor (only double P/O for 2 & 12 instead of triple P/O). Worst of all, the House charges the vig up-front for lay and place bets instead of the more reasonable approach of charging the vig upon winning; I suppose FK's guesses they can get away with these small things given the less attractive competition out there like Gun Lake and Soaring Eagle which just reek of cigarette smoke. 4/5. Loosen the House edge a bit and increase payout at Craps.
