Dargan’s, you my friends, are a solid pub-grub joint with cold beer and solid service. I’m pretty sure there’s not much more you can ask for in an Irish-styled pub.
On a quiet Sunday, we got: Dargan’s Classic Fries, Steak & Guinness Pie and Corned Beef & Cabbage.
Dargan’s Classic Fries: I mean, fries covered in cheese and bacon with ranch to dip. Srsly. What’s not to love?
Steak & Guinness Pie: I will not hold it against them that it was the temperature of the sun when they served it to me. That just means it was fresh from the oven. In fact, I enjoyed that. When you peel back the flaky top and let it cool off, you get a chance to drink a beer. By the time you’ve ordered your second, you’re good to go. Tender steak, good gravy, nice potatoes -- all in all, a solid little pie.
Corned Beef & Cabbage: At an Irish pad, you can’t not get corned beef and this won’t let you down. Hopefully, you’re not coming here looking for fine dining -- because if you are, then this will let you down. However, if you’re looking for exactly that perfect St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage that you make at home, that’s exactly what you’ll get here. Oh, and the cabbage? It wasn’t overcooked and wilty! High fives guys.
The service was pleasant and attentive -- my beer was always full and we never felt a lack of attention.
Overall, a pleasant pub grub meal.
