Is it hot in here or is it just me? Wowzas!! I gotta say Jay-z ain't got nothing on North San Diego party, because we were big pimping as Harrah's Rincon was spending the G's. Showing some love to peeps trying to experience the San Diego High Life.
It was great seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new ones. Please add me as a friend :). This party was complete with catered Mexican food, desserts, cold drinks, and the birds and the bees (Minus the birds, just a lot of bee's trying to get their drink on). I'm not saying that there were a lot of "B's" because that is just harsh. I not judging. I'm talking about literally bees were joining our party. It strange that mostly people got use to the bees. We tried to protect our drinks by swatting at the bees like they were flies. I'm cool with bees they provide us with honey and pollinate 80% of the fruits and flowers we grow in CA. So, please don't kill them, but there should be a warning sign in case someone is allergic. Also, the bee hives on the side of the hotel were not sexy.
SHADE:
Don't be Shady! Shade was like a gift from god. If you could find some shade, you were not only cool (both literally and figuratively) but you were insuring your survival. Lucky for me I got the hook up from Isabella and her buddies. You guys saved me from melting.
SERVICE:
The service was excellente! See what I did there? Okay maybe I need to work on my Spanish. The food was very easily accessible and the drinks although the line was long the drink quality and the good spirited bartenders keep me in party mode despite getting toasted by the sun.
FOOD & DRINKS:
I filled up on nachos and tacos for most of the day. They were just too good. I didn't get a chance to try the desserts, but I did have a pineapple ice cream bar while trying to stay cool in the drink line. Here are the drinks I tried. I apologize for cheating on this part I borrowed the ingredient list from Isabella B.
1. Harradise (Bacardi Oakheart rum, sweet tea vodka, apricot brandy, fresh lemon, Sierra Mist and strawberry puree):
This was my favorite drink. I can't remember how many I had and it went down very smoothly. So I would say that's a success.
2. Pepper Melon 'Rita (El Jimador Blanco Tequila, Watermelon Syrup, Jalapeños, Triple Sec, Sweet & Sour and Fresh Watermelon).
I was not a big fan of this one. The Jalapeno added spice to the drink, but I could only imagining this drink going horribly wrong. Imagine drinking too many of these and having the peppers play La Cucaracha in your stomach.
3. Cucumber 'Rita (El Jimador Blanco Tequila, Fresh Muddled Cucumber, St. Germaine Elderflower, Sweet & Sour and Fresh Lime Juice):
This was very refreshing and reminded me of being at a spa because of the crispy cucumber in the drink. I wish they would service this at the spa. This drink plus a massage now that would be the life!
POOL:
Last but not least! After filling up on Mexican food and still looking fabulous, it was time to suck in my stomach and draw a six pack and get my lazy butt to the Lazy River! I gotta say at this point I switched to beer and having a drink in your hand and chilling in the lazy river is the best way relax and unwind. I was also feeling the reggae vibes but I didn't get a chance to check out the other pools because I feared missing the bus ride home.
BUS:
Thank you Cat for finding us for the San Marcos bus ride home. I liked her no soldier left behind policy. We stayed a little longer than estimated, but I'm glad she took the time to find everyone before leaving Harrahs. It would truly be a bummer to get strand at a wonderful casino many miles from your car and home.
Harrah's:
This casino is legit. Gambling will have to wait for another trip, but this casino is part of the Total Rewards club, so I may go here just to get some points that I can apply toward my Las Vegas trips :).
