The Plaza is on the "good" side of the old Las Vegas strip. A block or two away, the old strip gets seedy and scary. That being said, the Plaza has a rep-roaring casino of the old design (tighter spaces, thicker cigarette smoke, cheap drinks) with many floors of comfortable, clean rooms upstairs. We stayed in a room that had been recently upgraded (we heard that most of the hotel was already upgraded) so the decor and bathroom were modern and the bed was SUPER comfortable. The walls were not made of paper so we did not get any 3am entertainment from the neighbors (which is more than common in LV). The Plaza is also very close (5min walk) to a lot of the shows and to Fremont St where the Zotzilla zipline is enjoyed by many. All in all, it was a great stay. We would definitely stay at the Plaza again.
