We love The Orleans!
This is the third time we've visited. It's an off-strip, locals casino just a few minutes from Las Vegas Boulevard. The Orleans is huge, with thousands of slot machines, loads of tables, a bowling alley, pool, spa, cinema, arcade... the list goes on.
It sticks to a New Orleans mardigras theme and is colourfully decorated. Being off strip means it doesn't tend to attract the drunken frat party or spring break crowds you'll see in some of the others, but with 6 bars and heaps of restaurants there's a really great atmosphere here.
The rooms are really big with generous sitting space, big beds, decent TV and really good shower water pressure.
They've recently bought in loads of new slots (within the last year) and have some (like the Game of Thrones one) which are really difficult to find on the strip.
The staff are really friendly, the facilities are superb and the frequent shuttle bus (to The Linq and Gold Coast) make this place really shine. It's very easy to split your time between The Orleans and the strip casinos, taking in all the different themes and styles. If you're gambling, keep in mind that the Orleans slots pay out better than any other in Vegas and there are plenty of low limit tables for recreational gamblers.
I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Las Vegas!
Tip: Don't forget to check out the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory - the pretzels are amazing!
