The overall is: Good, but with serious reservations.
We enjoyed our Alaskan cruise, but frankly, it didn't cost us an arm and a leg so our expectations were quite low compared to many. We were lucky to have good weather in Glacier Bay, and food was pretty decent throughout the trip.
Although the trip itself was good, sadly dealing with the customer relations post-cruise was a nightmare. We thought we were getting onboard credit during our booking with HAL, and despite the oral confirmation that "you will get the credit on the ship," the booking agent didn't actually put the credit into our booking. We only found out during our cruise that our booking didn't reflect the onboard credit. According to the customer relations, we cannot "substantiate" our claim for onboard credit, along with many other rude remarks suggesting we were lying and blaming us for not pestering the booking agent to input the correct information (our mistake??? or your job???).
So cross you fingers and hope nothing goes wrong with your trip -- no missed bags, missed flights, disease outbreak, foul weather, unfortunate room location, etc.. To have a perfect trip with HAL, you will need a miracle, a very good trip insurance, and avoid insults from customer relations at all costs.
