I made this reservation months ago. Steve the owner messaged me through Expedia a few weeks ago to tell me the price of the room was wrong. I thought it was strange, though I accepted the higher rate. I couldn’t believe it when I showed up to find out that he gave my room away. Steve said that he tried to run my credit card the day before arrival and it didn’t go through so he cancelled my reservation. There is never an issue with my American Express card. He totally lied in order to charge someone else more for my room. Can you imagine how disappointed we were? I called Expedia, they confirmed that my reservation still existed. Expedia gave me $100 credit towards another hotel, which was nice of them, but.. it doesn’t take away the disgusting behavior of Steve and the Carriage House Inn.
