Went for the preakness, so it's kind of a mess, but some glaring problems are.... about zero signage when approaching, and horrible traffic direction from the police, so leave about 45 minutes earlier than you think. The staff, and I mean every last person, is completely clueless and not the least bit helpful in any kind of way. I walked around the entire facility at the direction of the staff before ending up at the same gate I originally went to because they kept sending me to different gates. No signage when you are inside, and ridiculously few locations for alcohol, food, etc considering there are like 50,000 people there. Also, the infield is all mud, so wear something you seriously do not care about.
