I highly encourage anyone visiting London for the first time, to come to Windsor Castle. One of the last remaining, functioning castles in the world, Windsor is home to Queen Elizabeth and her family. Immediately after stepping from the train in Windsor, you are met with many signs pointing the way to the castle. Once you have passed through the gates, it's a royal treat for all to enjoy. You have the permission to enter the Queen's Apartments, where you can see the Doll House, the Shakespeare Collection (temporary), plus many paintings, armors, weapons, pretty much anything and everything restored and preserved over the centuries. History is Windsor's business, and it is chock full of it. A pleasant and slow paced tour throughout the grounds makes for wonder photography and if you catch the right moment, the changing of the guard ceremony is something to stick around for.
