The first impression of the hotel was nice. Nicely decorated lobby with a lot of Native American art. Unfortunately, the service at the front desk was not as great. We waited in line while the 4 people behind the desk huddled behind one computer to fix the an issue with a customer on the phone. It wasn't until the lady in the front of the line loudly stated that maybe she should call the hotel to get so easy service. Two of the clerks came over to help. While the lady helping me was pleasant, the other clerk bordered on being outright rude to people in her line. Upon reaching our room, we were happy to fingers a very spacious and comfortable rooms. While the pillows and linens were quite worn, the bed was still comfortable. During our stay, we ate at Luckys Public and the Prime Cut restaurants. We found Luckys to have a fun bar atmosphere, and decent bar food. The service was OK, but not the best. However, they did have a great selection of Iowa brewed beers. Our meal at Prime Cut ranked among the worst I've ever had. The service was slow, our server was OK. Jason, the manager was a complete jerk. The food was what you would expect from an airport fast food place, not a "Signature Steakhouse" as they advertised it. Having already experienced Jason's management skills, we chose not to complain. However, I can honestly say that I wouldn't eat there again if they paid me to. Overall, the service was bad, the food was awful, and better gambling can be found at just about any of the other casinos in Iowa.
