Beautiful Rooms, But Pay for Everything Else
The Venetian offers very nice, luxurious suite rooms. Bed and pillows were comfortable. We stayed two nights and I had a good night's sleep on both. The living area is sizable, with a couch and TV so you could choose to lounge both over there or in bed.
The minus side of The Venetian (and what we understand for most other big hotels on The Strip too) is that you'd have to pay for everything else other than the room, two bottles of water, your usual toiletries as well as hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
You'll have to pay a separately-chargeable compulsory Resort Fee that's for use of the swimming pool, fitness center, spa, wifi, newspaper app etc. There's no coffee maker or water kettle in the room so you would have to pay to get in-dining coffee / tea if you want. The fridge is fully stocked with a mini bar that automatically senses and charges a product to your account whenever it is removed regardless of whether it's consumed. You could rent a fridge from the hotel separately on a first-served basis though.
The Hotel's FAQs state that guests are not allowed to bring any "external cooking devices such as a hot plate, coffeemaker, etc. Coffee, tea, specialty drinks, and hot food can be ordered through in-suite dining."
I guess that's how the hotels here ensure a healthy bottom line.
