Definitely a destination for Texans. This is probably the closest thing to Vegas less than a days drive from the majority of Texas.
I would put this casino above those in Shreveport or Lake Charles qhwn it comes to a casino/resort destination. The Winstar beats the competition when it comes to slot machine selection, cleanliness, casino floor size, casino floor action. Its got the Vegas vibe going.
What the WinStar does not have is comped mixed drinks. Its a serve yourself soda and coffee casino. (They do have bars where you can purchase drinks though)
The size of the casino is impressive. The place is huge, larger than many of the casino's in Vegas. The slot machine selection is really good, filled with a little bit of everything, including lots of pop themed machines.
I have yet to stay in the hotel, but receive flyers for concerts and special events by big name artists all the time. The place is awesome. I never pass by without stopping in for a bit.
I've had mixed luck on the slot machines, but it seems to me the odds here are decent.
If you're looking to plan a casino trip, this is a great place to do it.
