Beautiful hotel all around. Open air lobby with nice constant breeze is exactly the aura you'd expect. Pool area is great for both adults and kids (same for the waterslide). Beach is right there and perfect. You have to be on top of reserving beach huts (palapas) or pool chairs for the next day, or pay to avoid worry. Staff is excellent!!
Only negative is waaay overpriced food and drinks at the hotel, and food at outside is very mediocre. Fancier restaurants downstairs seem better but again pricey. Suggest walk to taxi to the many near by restaurants.
The attached pictures look too good but are just from the balcony.
Overall A, from us first time Carribian vacationers with two kids under 6.
