I gave it 3 stars, but that is NOT a bad thing. If you are on a budget and still want to be apart of the Vegas experience, then the Stratosphere can be a good choice if you are looking for a hotel.
CONS:
The parking garage is a little dirty and dated. The hotel room (that I booked) is basic. No microwave, closet, or fridge. There is an iron and a tv. There is a desk in the room, but you can't really use it because the flat screen TV is placed on it. There is a little tiny closet built into the TV hutch. See pics. The hutch closet is not very big. A little walk or drive the main part of the strip.
PROS:
The customer service so far has been great. Carmella (I think that is her name) was very pleasant and helpful and Hotel Registration. She gets 5 stars. The hotel is on the strip and close enough to Fremont street as well. The nightly rates are very affordable. And your in Vegas! The top of the Stratosphere hosts a restaurant with 360 views. Great nightclubs. And thrill rides that you won't find anywhere else. Oh, and the price to go to the top of the Stratosphere is reduced from $20 to $5 if you are staying in the hotel. You also get discounts in the shops and restaurants if you show keywords.
BOTTOM LINE:
Stay here if you are on a budget and what to spend your money doing things instead. Who cares if the room doesn't have all the amenities. That is why the price is cheaper. Good alternative to more expensive hotels.
This hotel gives you exactly what you need for the price paid.
