Our in-laws where in Phoenix from New Mexico and wanted to go to one of the casinos out here. We chose Ak-Chin because we had never been there and because it is a Harrah's property. We went on a Sunday night. I was looking to play poker and everyone else was looking for slots. While the slots were very accommodating the poker room was not so much. And it may be due to the fact that it was a Sunday night so maybe not too much action going on in the poker room as there was no one playing at all. We became hungry around 8 p.m. only to find out that the buffet had just closed and we're directed to a more expensive restaurant in the casino. There was a grill area that was open with more reasonably priced food but was understaffed and wait times were very long. I would like to go back on a different day of the week and maybe during a different time to see if our experience is any better. There were definitely a variety of slot machines as well as a smoke-free area which my in-laws really enjoyed.
