I've had many positive experiences at Isleta, but tonight was a absolute joke. I'm a poker player, and I've played in many casinos across the country. Never have I encountered a floor manager with so little understanding of the basic rules of the game.
I saw him refuse to call multiple blatant misdeals -- including one where a card was overturned as the second dealt. I saw him insist that a player post an ante that he had obviously already posted -- the dealer counted down the pot, and it was correct! During the tournament I played, he repeatedly failed to notice the time, announce level changes, or perform color-ups -- it was absolute chaos. During the cash game I played after the tournament, he ruled that I had to forfeit a bet placed out of turn when the action had changed in front of me in complete contradiction of the rules that are followed in every casino.
I hope that Isleta will make the right decision to fire John (the poker room manager) and train their dealers on the rules of the game. Please let me know if you do, and perhaps l will be willing to try this casino again.
