This was my first time visiting the casino. I wasn't very impressed and would not make the hour and a half trip there again. The open rooms on the way to the smoking section made that half of the casino seem deserted and creepy. We ate at the cafe and the lady working there was not really rude, but not friendly or social at all. She almost made us feel as if we were a burden. All but one of the staff at guest services were the same, unfriendly and made us feel like we were a burden. The worst part of the visit was the fact that my friend and I are both smokers, so the small smoking Pavillion was a huge disappointment. If I am going to the casino for the day, I want to sit and enjoy myself without having to run to a smoking section that is extremely lacking in updated games. We were looking forward to this visit and were disappointed. I suggest changing things a little to make smokers feel a little more welcome. Change the layout of the place a bit to make the place not seem so deserted, and train staff on proper, friendly customer service. I've worked as a waitress for over 25 years so I know how customer service should be to ensure your guests are happy, comfortable and feel welcomed. None of which happened at mountaineer.
