Charming Colorado Casino
This was my first stay at Ameristar, and first visit to Blackhawk. The resort is beatiful and they obvious pinnacle casino of the surrounding area.
First, the Resort. Solid amenities, like spa, rooftop pool, restaurant varieties, Starbucks, etc. The look and feel was warm and lodge-like.
Next, the Rooms. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable, with a nice spacious bathroom. I loved that they included fridges and some bottled waters, a nice touch. Beds and pillows were comfortable and it served as a great retreat.
Finally, the Gaming! This casino is small compared to some larger cities, but it had enough action. It has live Craps, Blackjack, UTH, Poker, and more. The slots were relatively diverse with lots of older reel style slots on the upper level and some good newer slots downstairs. They had a pretty good variety of popular and themed slot machines like Lightning Link, Buffalo Varieties, Walking Dead, GOT, etc. Limits were reasonable and reflected the traffic levels apporpriatley. There was a lot of action at the tables and the casino had a really fun energy.
I loved the warm, ski resort type feel to the decor and casino. The scent was pleasant, the entire resort was clean and new feeling. I also liked that it was no smoking. Finally it looks like they are opening a very unique center bar in the upcoming months. Overall, I would love to visit again!
