We have been going to Cabo for 10 years now and love the country. In the 10 years we have tried various resorts and decided to try the Barcelo. First off the resort is beautiful, three pools , the place is clean as are most we tried. Where this place falls miserably short is the service. All other resorts we had no problem having a waiter bring us drinks on the beach, not here even with tips of 10.00 per visit it was a lost cause, so we ended up going to the Mega and buying a few big thermos and went up and refilled ourselves. Next was the room cleaning service again the room was cleaned but it seemed the bigger tip i left the worse it got. No towels no hand towels we complained at the main desk 3 times but we ended up just replenishing our towels from various carts in the hallway. The forth time we complained the fellow handed us a complaint card which we just tore up and gave back to him. There were others when we first got there complaining of the same thing and i now know why , one fellow who was complaining of the same thing had a wedding to attend in an hour and you guessed it no towels. Then the room key fiasco, a young lady was complaining her key wasn't working and she was having a problem getting in i kind of laughed it off , guess what shortly after our 3rd complaint about the towels our key wasn't working. Coincidence ? I think not. One night we complained again about the towels and at 10 pm we were on the balcony and we turn around and a house keeper is standing there glaring at us , she looks at us and says "you want room cleaned"? She was mad I said no just towels, after 5 minutes of trying to tell her we just want towels she left. No free wifi as advertised for the upgraded room, no surprise i haven't hit a resort here that offers it free. The restaurants were very nice, as were others in cheaper resorts. the sushi restaurant was excellent. The beds as most we have been to are a tad firm for us no change here. Overall the place was nice but for the extra $$$ i say save your cash . We will be back again next year but not to the Barcello. In the end it all come down to service and we will be heading back to the Royal Solaris where they actually care about your complaints and the service and customer care far outweighs the Barcello. If the staff and by staff im addressing the front desk and housekeeping staff at the Barcello were more sincere about problems i would have given this 5 stars but in the end the thing one remembers is friendly staff and customer service. Unfortunately for us a others i witnessed this is not the concern at the Barcello.
