Harrah's Council Bluffs

Stole from our rooms, poor service to rooms, mediocre environment at best and management (all the way up the chain) that doesn't care or do anything about the thefts or poor service. Thieves that don't care...don't ever stay here. I booked rooms for my wife and I in one room and 88-yr old parents in another when we came back to Council Bluffs for my dad's high school to honor him (4-6 Dec). On the morning we left, both my wife and mom noticed that five total cosmetic items were missing from the two rooms (next to each other). I reported it to manager on duty and then called back next day to find out nothing had been done. That manager also did nothing. I eventually got the assistant hotel manager a few days later to tell me it's the first he'd heard of it and he tried to pass me off to security. I told him to have security contact me and filed an official police report. Never heard back after a week from the hotel, so called Caeasr's corporate direct. They put me through to Loss/Claims and I left a message. No answer back for a week and so I called back and left a detailed message and told them I was going to blog them. Got a call back from a guy that was then extremely attentive. Spent an hour answering their detailed questions (like a cat burglar broke in during the night (I personally suspect staff with access to rooms). Most hilarious question of the interview was, "Do they have safes in the rooms at Harrah's CB?" Actually, "no, they don't." Yes, hard to believe in a casino, but even if they did, would you put all your toiletries in them? Better lock up your dirty underwear as well. He then had to talk to my wife and mom since it were their items and eventually said they'd be sending us checks for the approx value of the items. Wow! Except for the last guy being very attentive, this property sucks and I will never stay at another Harrah's or go to Caesar property to stay or gamble. We probably spent over $1,000 there in two days of room, food, drinks and gambling. Low rent hotel and rundown casino. And for all our trouble and their desire to just blow me off, we spent all that time to get back only the approx cost of the items they stole from us. This is only about the thefts... in addition, there were no towels in our room on check-in, our fridge was off and parent's fridge was set to freeze everything, and on day 2 (when they probably stole our items), they didn't even make the bed! (but they changed the towels...probably forgot in their haste to leave with our stuff). Don't ever stay at this place and be very careful with anything associated with Harrah's.
