Overall a great experience. We were originally booked for a room in the resort tower. Ended up checking in a bit late and our room had been given away. We were given a free upgrade to a suite in the Royal Tower with a fantastic view up the strip. Our room was kept very clean and all the staff was friendly and helpful.
Before our stay I had called customer service and was handled by the most friendly, professional CS representative I've ever dealt with.
During our stay we attended the Tournament of King dinner show and everyone in our group had a great time.
There were only two blemishes with our stay here: a) the casino at Excalibur smelled noticeably more smokey than at neighboring resort casinos. For that reason alone we ended up gambling more at other facilities, but it didn't impact our stay at the hotel here, per se. And b) we did the dinner buffet one night. It was sub par. The selection was good, but not great, and the quality was also good, not great. For the price we paid, I would have expected much more; slightly let down by that. The food court made up for it though, and provided us with plenty of fast food style options for our smaller meals.
