Dined at Council Oak this evening and left completely disappointed. Certainly not our first visit but could possibly be our last. First off the service was awful, server was completely unattentive and walked past our table numerous times without clearing the dirty plates. Never once offered soda refills or if I wanted another glass of wine, forgot to bring our salad to the table. He just really didn't care and when we complained about one of the steaks not being up to standard he walked away and came back and just put the check on the table. Secondly, I ordered a New York Strip, medium. I literally had to saw the steak with my knife, it was so tough. The other steaks that we ordered were filets and they were beautifully cooked and delicious. It was apparent that I had not eaten much of my steak and I truly believe that the server should have spoken to a manager to get me a new steak cooked. It wasn't until I decided to ask for a manager that we spoke to one and even he did not offer to correct my $49 steak, instead he took a $10 side off of the bill. I am in disbelief that I was charge for a piece of meat that I found to be below par and did not eat. Shameful that my family and I were made to feel we were not worthy of decent service and food tonight. Not to rectify a simple food problem is just a show of not caring on the part of the Council Oak staff. Completely dissatisfied this evening.
