A thoroughbred horse race course. Facilities are suffering a little atm as the members' stand is rebuilt, and the club hierarchy has increased the number of full paying members to pay the bills. Areas can be crowded. The open areas have more room, but just what people get for their entrance fee is unclear. Good train transport, but only on race days. A tram runs along the front of the course, but the shuttle that runs between the tram stop and the course entrance is problematic. Big race days, e.g.the spring carnival Melbourne Cup can be very crowded, and catered tables very expensive. When it's at its best, a class place to be
