Great family visit location only a short drive (about 1 hour) from Melbourne. Remember to keep a look out for the exit from the Freeway, the signage could be better. There is a sign indicating the exit is a KM or two coming up, but when you get to the appropriate exit there is no sign indicating Hanging Rock "This EXIT". When you do get to the park there are automatic gates which open when your car reaches the boom gate. You get your $10 ticket to exit the park from the automatic dispensing machine next to the cafe. Prices for parking may vary for special occasions. Climbing the rock is via a ramp (for prams or wheel chairs) or via steps. Both take about the same time. Signage indicates you shouldn't climb rocky out crops, but people do. You can see everything without climbing any of the rocky outcrops (and taking the chance or falling and hurting your self or anyone else). The Discovery centre is full of interesting exhibits, and also provides a tunnel for the kids to climb through. We visited the Rock one weekend and finished every thing within 90 minutes (a flying visit), but we would have loved to spend lots more time there. Over all the Park is a great site to explore and very well kept so the $10 entry is well worth it.
