Rented a room for spring break. There was a bug in the window sill. Asked the housekeeper about it and he said I brought it up from the beach. Told him I never went to the beach. He said they were sand fleas and that was normal to have them in the room. Like I was out of line for asking about it. Then he kind of watched me the whole time I was at hotel. After I told him it was no big deal then he stopped asking me about it. Wanted to use pool next to lobby it was murky and smelled heavily of chlorine. Pool area was dirty and looked like it had not been tended too in months. Clerk had view that the pool was so healthy because she said it had sea water. No hot tub anywhere. But the water looks really dirty and murky and I had a tummy ache after swimming in it. The lobby only has stairs so if you book a room there you will be climbing 16 steps to get to second floor because there isn't an elevator something clerk didn't mention when she booked me on second floor. I had to ask about elevator. Expensive for these "amenities". $145.00 a night. Its not like they have any desire to listen to customers or make any changes - they are of the opinion that you either like it and stop complaining or go somewhere else. Obviously from the other reviews they aren't interested in listening to customers. After getting sick from the pool and seeing the bug in the room and being deceived about the stairs in the lobby and the overall attitude they had about it and their trying to somehow explain all of this as the "beach experience" I didn't even spend the night.
Not to mention when I was checking in there was a little kid who said to her mom that she thought she saw a whale out in the ocean from the lobby window (they have a huge picture window in the lobby). Like I said it was spring break and they had a lot of guests from out of town, the clerk said in a real definitive manner to the kid that there was no way it was a whale because it wasn't the time of year for whales. Later I turned on the TV in the room and the local news said it was whale season on the Oregon coast so it shows you how much they know about the "beach".
