This is great venue. Both the public areas and the member's areas are well maintained and the grounds kept in excellent condition. Getting to and from the racecourse is easy as they have direct (and free) buses from Eddy Ave at Central station. Even at peak times, they tend to move people fairly quickly and there isn't much of a wait. In the public areas there are usually promotional vans and food trucks, especially on the big racing carnival days. It public area can get very busy though. So, be prepared for to rub shoulders with most of Sydney. You won't usually have to wait long for drinks, betting facilities or toilets though. In my experience, they have plenty of all available. If you can get into the member's area, it's much more spacious. The carvery is good too. You can get a hot lamb or pork roll, or a super fresh (and very delicious) salad. Sandwiches and sushi are also available, but if you're keen on something a little more adventurous, then the food trucks in the forecourt of the main area might be more up your alley. Overall, this is a great place to spend an afternoon.
