The staff at this hotel was great. They were all very friendly and accommodating. The pool was very nice but the lagoon left a little to be desired. It was smaller than I expected it would be. The suites were a good size but were not nearly as nice and updated as I would have hoped for the price. This is probably my fault for not researching what I would get for 400 a night but it seems if you want a nice updated hotel in Aruba you should be spending closer to 600 a night or more. I guess I expected Marriot to invest more in keeping up with the rooms. Everything negative was purely cosmetic and seems that the place has not been updated in at least 10 years. Carpet was dingy and gross, the TVs were small (32") The furniture was outdated and not comfortable. The only saving grace for this hotel is the private island which is wonderful and the very close proximity to anything that you would want to do or eat for a night out.
