Not sure how this place got 4.5. I would rate this more like 3.75 if that was an option but not quite a 4.
The service was good and timely but unfriendly and direct. I guess if one is comparing what is available in Hayward then yes maybe given the locale a 4.25 but certainly not a 4.5 which is the same rating attributable to many of the best restaurants in the Bay Area that are far superior in taste, presentation, and service than Neumanali.
The food was good but definitely not off the charts great to demand a 4.5.
Experience - We walked in without a welcome and when we departed both main waiter guy and lady behind the bar looked at us, made eye contact, we said goodbye and no response back....it was like this weird, pretentious spot that just somehow has been allowed to manifest itself in Hayward. Even in Palo Alto, Los Altos, San Mateo and Burlingame they are far more welcoming than here.
Overall even though I would have rated a 3.5 to 3.75, I decided to rate it a 3 considering in the array of restaurants I have had the opportunity to dine in all along the west coast, this restaurants ratings are overrated (at least by my experience) and therefore a bit of “market correction” from my side to bring that down somewhat.
