Most, if not all, of these reviews must be by locals. My husband and I flew up from Houston to see the great Billy Joel last weekend, Sept 20-22, and we got a few surprises. The hotel itself is very inviting and quite beautiful, but that's about it. Checking in literally took a minute. We walked up, the clerk hit a few buttons and handed us the keys. No review of our plans, room charge, deposit or hotel information. So I asked about the total and he said our stay was complimentary. Not a surprise considering we frequent the sister property in Louisiana. We still ended up with multiple charges that took the course of our stay plus a few days here at home to resolve. The casino: nice atmosphere and great selection of games. Definitely not a loose casino. Bring money if you want to play awhile and have drinks. Drink staff is scarce if you see any at all. We finally found a drink person then were shocked to have to pay $10 for 2 beers to a grumpy woman who clearly didn't want to be there. But, the drink staff shows up promptly at 245A to rudely tell you to drink up within a minute or they will throw it away. Apparently, the casino must be cleared of all alcohol by 245A. We were losing money and the staff gave us the impression we were bothering them so we just went up to our room. While we can't do anything about the alcohol laws, it would be helpful and courteous to simply put up a sign at the casino entrance letting you know you have a curfew and a charge for drinks so us visitors aren't blindsided by this ridiculous policy.
