The ship was nice, clean and new. No long lines at buffet and food was of good quality (deserts were hit or miss). We tried the food in all of the 4 non premium dining halls and liked Cyprus (Mediterranean) the best exclusive menu choices & ambiance, followed by Normandie (French), followed by Cosmopolitan (new American) and Tuscan (Italian) least favorite both menu choices and decor.
Getting on the ship and off the ship including tender was done very well and one of the best I have experienced. The ship never felt cramped (might not have been full) but there were more kids than normal due to the promotion. Our cabin was a ocean view stateroom comped by the casino, the room was well furnished and adequately spacious for two of us. However, we head grinding noise from above (like chairs or tables were being dragged) especially at night.
Doing anything on 16th floor was a challenge especially at night with strong wind and this is where the movies were projected at night.
Worst slot casino payout on the sea I have ever been and this was an opinion shared by many who were the casino playing both tables and slots. I played exclusively slots on all but one night (7 night cruise) and sunk several K without hitting any kind of jackpot once and didn't see anyone else hit one either during the time I was there. However, the casino staff was courteous.
The ship was beautiful but payouts and the tap your card thing did not work for me i played for hours looked down and ot was red and played everyday when i could get on a machine i liked. Will try again to see how it goes.
The tap your card would be green - and unless you are watching it all the time, which I was not, it would turn red at some point, while I was still playing. No clue how many points I lost. As far as machines go, most pretty tight, but I spent a lot of time figuring out what worked best and at what bet. Still lost in long run, but not as bad as it could have been! The worst machines were Spin Its. The lightening machines (except the ones with horses) were pretty good but not max bets. I played 2 cents at $3 and close to that equivalent at 5 cents and $5 at 10 cents. The various other "Chinese" machine were pretty good as well. Heidi machine was HOT at max bet ($6) for first couple of days. Lock-It machines liked 2 cent bets ($5 and $10). Wheel of Fortune machines not so hot. I played various other machines, but ones I mentioned were the bigger payers. Ship itself lovely, upgraded to suite with Butler. Buffet for lunch very good, most of the restaurants decent. Eden was the only specialty restaurant I went to and it was $55 pp - and very good. I also went to Luminae but that is just for suite guests. One other issue with casino - hard pressed to get a drink in there, not enough staff. BTW, if you like to read on ships, note this is the only ship I have ever been on that did NOT have a library.
I liked the ship; however, I did not get to play the slots often because the ones I wanted were always in use. I agree about no library as my daughter always checks out books in addition to the ones she had downloaded. She ran out of books to read. We had an infinite balcony which did make the room larger; however, we missed being on an actual balcony.
Just got off this morning. Absolutely the most beautiful ship ever. Casino very nice selection of games and nonsmoking!!! Staff very friendly. Worse payouts for me ever. Still I loved the ship. Great martini bar, Luminae, steakhouse, and Raw on 5. Did not like Tuscan only free dining we tried. Need another week on her! Met Captain Kate for one on one! Goal accomplished!
Beautiful ship. Aqua class, Blu and the thermal suites were amazing. Very fun casino - casino staff is wonderful with fast drink service. Andreea, the casino hostess, checked in on us nightly and comped our speciality dinners on the last night. The ship hosted casino tournaments were very fun!! Thanks URcomped!!
The Celebrity Edge is a beautiful ship. We stayed in an Infinite Veranda stateroom which was very nice with ample storage and larger bathroom. We did miss having a standard balcony area and did not make use of the slide down window feature very much. The selection of four main dinning rooms to choose from made for a lot of dining options. Normandy and Cypress were our favorites with outstanding food followed by Tuscan and Cosmopolitan. The martini bar, magic carpet and and other bars through out the ship were all vey nice. Lots of spaces to relax and enjoy the cruise! The casino pay outs were terrible for me but I did see two people hit $20,000 on $1 machines. I think however most people did not have much of any wins in the casino. It was disappointing to spend so much and get little playtime in return. Andrea, the casino host was very pleasant and greeted us several times during the cruise. They also had a slot tournament and hot seat free play giveaways. I would love to cruise in a suite on this ship in the future. Thanks Urcomped for introducing me to the Celebrity Edge.
We LOVED this ship! Weren't there an hour and we wished we'd booked a B2B. We had an Aqua class room, loved it, but still not sure about the new balcony concept. Rarely used it because the ceiling on it was the same height as the room and it got super humid super fast..................... The buffet was incredible. The head pastry chef for Celebrity was on this ship, and while I'm not big into desserts, they looked incredible! The displays at the buffet were like I've never seen before, and the food was delicious - best buffet ever. Food in the 4 main dining rooms and Blue was an 8 out of 10, and didn't have time for a specialty restaurant!............. Did great in the casino, after a week of heavy playing ended up $1500 up so it's all good. Looking forward to sailing on the Apex in October!!
We have been on her 4 times. Beautiful ship, service, staff and stateroom. Casino was hot and cold but many games, video poker, and table games. Saw many jackpots and hand pays. Unfortunately I was not one of them
We loved everything about this cruise, the ship is beautiful. We enjoyed the crew, the food and the casino. We also enjoyed the ports we visited. We stayed in the retreat and now I’m spoiled. I don’t think I’ll be able to stay anywhere else now. Craig we absolutely enjoyed you and your family and can’t wait to go on our next venture Thank you 🙏🏾
Beautiful ship with an excellent crew receive five stars
Very nice casino but if you are going to gamble, this is not the ship to do it on. Everyone was complaining about the non-paying machines! A waste of money.
We just completed our 10 night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Celebrity Edge. We had a great time playing some of our favorite slots in the casino. The Edge Casino Host (Nichola) was very friendly and held many slot tournaments throughout the week. She made sure to greet us in the casino throughout the week and made sure to exceed our expectations. Looking forward to our Celebrity Beyond cruise in December! Thank You Tyler
Very hard to get a seat at 3 card or Texas holdum as Casino had a shortage of dealers due to Covid19 quarantine.
Also, why does casino not have the updated version of Texas holdum? Newer version gives more options to win. Payoff on pairs , pair of A’s, A and Face card.
Also we were told Tuesday 2-6 was $5 tables. Never happened.
Casino promo of random drawings for Belvedere Vodka. My wife won. Casino Host recorded cabin number for delivery on last night of cruise. Never delivered. Made calls to GS as Casino was closedown. Sorry if not delivered you just missed out. Really!!!
In all my years as a player I have never seen such lucky dealers. Of course the walk around and table to table carrying their “PERSONAL “ deck of cards. Makes me suspicious based on their never luck. Very obvious and suspect.
But at least some of those pretty dealers smile when they beat you. Had it both ways. Got slaughtered one hour, then the next I am winning. Its cards, odds and statistics. I will take a hand dealt, hand shuffled game anytime.(OK, as long as all 52 cards are in the deck,LOL)
We got off the ship today and we were also on the first cruise to leave the US on June 26. It is a beautiful ship, nice shops, great staff. I like the 4 free dining options. Normandine was my favorite. The baked brie appetizer is outstanding. Casino paid better on my first cruise than this time. I am impressed that after 3 cruises I was able to reach Sapphire which added $500 in free play, free drink package on the ship and free WiFI ($172 value) Some machines paid better(4 Wonder, buffalo) but I didn't do as well on the video poker. I had an Infinite Veranda. It makes the room larger and I like looking out the large windows. Took a little getting used to compared to the normal balcony but it is growing on me. The best room service I have had on any ship. The food arrive fast, on hot plates, and tasted good. I would go back. Thank you URComped
A beautiful ship ...
Perfect room service
Courteous staff ..
We enjoyed the variety of good and excellent food that was in every restaurant and also in the buffet.
The space in the ship gave a feeling of security
As for the casino unfortunately there was not much luck ...
Thank you
This was our first cruise since February 2020. The ship was wonderful. It was only 1/3 full so there were no lines or full elevators. Plenty of pool chairs available. The best customer service I have ever experienced on a cruise. Food and drinks were wonderful. Entertainment was very good. Our bartender in the casino Humberto was great always kept our drinks fresh.
The casino staff was not friendly, never came by to welcome us or say hello. The slot machines were very tight so we don't have any jackpots to post.
Thank you Mallory & Jessica for booking us on this wonderful cruise. We had a great time.
This ship is amazing! So bright, clean, beautiful art work, fabulous specialty restaurants. The martini bar crew is the BEST! The retreat is a great! Loved the sun deck, the pool bar, and access to Luminae and Blu.
The Edge is a state of the art ship with a fantastic crew and staff.
Slots were tight but still had a great time. Lots of choices of machines.
Food was excellent and plentiful.
Looking forward to our next Edge sailing.
We loved everything on this ship . The Captain was so approachable and warm . The crew was extraordinarily friendly and at everyone’s service . The casino was so exciting and entertaining the machines were a great variety. The Martini Bar Staff gets a huge shout out for talent !!!! We loved our infinite veranda so much our window was down and the sounds of the waves lulled us to sleep every night how Blessed were we ! We have hopes to be on this ship again in the near future and look forward to enjoying and sampling more on the open seas .
The Edge is great. Great veranda balcony. Spacious with great room steward Charinga. We loved the Normandie main dining room. Thomas was our server for almost all of our nights dinners. Excellent food and service. Casino slots were very tight as I played many different games. Captain Tazos is a really funny guy. He was hilarious in the Liars club show. Overall we had a great time
Ship was fun, but casino was small. Very few tables, one crap table, one roulette table, one three card poker, 4 blackjack, the rest is slots. Waited to play, sometimes had to leave. The hosts were very nice.
This was our 1st celebrity cruise on the Edge thanks to URcomped. The no smoking in the casino was a home run for us. The ship is beautiful. Out of 7 nights in the 4 different dining restaurants, we had only 2 dinners that weren’t the greatest . Service was amazing , but remember the ship was only at around 37% full. Not much to do around the ship compared to Royal Caribbean along with the entertainment at night. The people that work on the ship are very pleasant, helpful, & always happy to help.
Loved the ship. This was the first cruise out of the USA in 15 month's. The ship was full of the news media wanting to get our stories. They finally got off in Cozumel. Only
wanted to report bad news.
The slots were old and in need of updating. We played all 7 days and slots need to be loosen and much better selection. Never won a jackpot only small amounts. The casino staff were very nice and helpful. They needed slot tournaments and activities to keep people playing Most of the time the casino had low number of players and little winning.
Will be sailing again on the Equinox in September. Hopefully better slots and more winning. Great cruise overall.
This is a great ship and the ports are good too. Staff is very friendly and the food was excellent. Was a little surprised that there weren't any special perks or anything sent to us while on the ship.
Staff on board were terrific, food and servers very good. Try Select + if you are booking.....you are able to sample all (4) dining venues. Speciality restaurants were very good but $$$$. Canvassing other guests.... all had the same review..... of beds...hard... especially.... if you have any back issues.
Do not book an aft cabin if possible... vibrations all day and at night when ship is cruising at 20 knots.
I found casino staff to be cordial. Machines were tight... played a little at tables
Considering all things... ship and cruise were very nice
Thank you Stephanie
Even our inside room was very well appointed and comfortable. Staff through the ship were exceptional. Lovely modern new ship. Food and dining also very nice. Entertainment very unique and the main theatre had a nice new set up where stage comes out into the theatre.
The Celebrity Edge is a floating paradise. The ship is stunning, the food is excellent, the rooms spacious (you'll love the shower), and the crew is outstanding. Every crew member we encountered went out of their way to ask how we liked our trip, if we needed anything, was there anything we needed. The crew to passenger ratio is 1-2 and it shows. You never have to look far for a crew member. The Edge has 4 main complimentary dining rooms, and while most of the menu is the same across them, each has a few "specialties" based on a theme-Italian, French, Greek, American. We only went to a few shows-don't miss "Eden"-on the 5th floor (but be prepared-they use incense and it is strong!)-sensual and visually stunning. The casino is roomy and the entire ship is smoke free except for small areas on the 2 upper decks. Celebrity caters to an older, wealthier crowd, but they treat all passengers with the same quality service, and every passenger we met was friendly and easy going. You can find less expensive cruise lines, but you won't get the same service, amenities and atmosphere as the Edge. If you want the trip of a lifetime, this is it.
This ship is less than a month old, and very mordern, very different. We actually really liked most of the trip. Our infinet Balcony was outstanding, again, very different, see it on UTube, very roomy, lots of storage, even the bathroom AND the shower was good size. There were no waterslides or mini golf, or kiddie pools, but thats ok because we don't use any of that stuff, not really a kids type of ship. The shows were very different and not to our liking at all. Lots of lounges with music, as well as the Garden area topside with live entertainment, overall, lots to do, just very different from other ships. Now to the casino, it was not as big as i thought it would be compared to other ships. The slots and the tables were VERY tight. There was only onr $15 dollar BJ table, and it was single deck, The other BJ tables were $25. min. and up. We did enjoy our time in the casino, but our pocketbook suffered. The Hostess was fantastic, and the casino bar staff were great too.
I agree with all of the above. The infinite balcony gave an illusion of a much bigger room, and the bathroom was pretty spacious, too. The MGR food was excellent as was the Steakhouse (Bone in filet mignon, yum) and Le Petit Chef was cool with animations. I will post pics. Casino was stingy, but the Casino Hostess Nicola was very engaging. It is a beautiful ship.
