I came here for the 45th American Burn Conference. The city itself has a surreal and beautiful atmosphere, but the people are snobs. I guess I expected too much because I am from the South and they are the most customer friendly people in America. When I first entered the hotel, they made me feel like i didn't even belong there. They don't tell you when you book your room that it is a $100 per night deposit for your room that you have to pay upfront! Ridiculous! The valet and desk staff don't smile, and you have to approach them before they speak to you. The casino security staff, i'm sorry to say, are bigots, have evasive attitudes, and don't want to assist with anything. No matter how much money you want to spend in the casino, its about how you look. A guy at the door carded me, but allowed three other people ahead of me without checking there ID. I told him i didn't have mine, and he would not allow me in. When i went back and got my ID, I took it out my wallet and starred at it forever before he gave it back, and he asked me all sorts of questions like my ID wasn't legit....A-hole. He did this to no one else that looked different from me! Sucks to have a different hue to you at this hotel because trust me you get treated differently. I've never experienced this before... l and I live in the SOUTH! I will be submitting this email to my colleagues at the American Burn Foundation to seriously reconsider using this hotel and casino for any further business events. I spoke to many of my medical colleagues that didn't share this same experience at the Renaissance Hotel or Hotel Zoso. This same review is also going to be apart of many reviews to come, because people must know about my experience here.
