Why bother to make a reservation? We arrived at 5:23 for a 5:30 reserved time and were told to sit on a bench and wait for a table. Some fifteen minutes later, we watched as a newly arrived group was immediately seated. “Oh, I forgot about you,” said the hostess dismissively. Needless to say, we’ll forget about eating at the Phillips WD & Grille again. Instead we headed right next door to the Ballyhoo where the drinks are superb, the links and soup delicious, and the service couldn’t be friendlier or more accommodating. Without a reservation even!
***An update: We were contacted that evening with a sincere apology and an offer of a comped meal. We went last evening and were treated to a superb meal. How impressive that a business cared enough about a mix-up to sow seeds of goodwill with a customer! We're returning next week because of the appreciation we were shown.
