This hotel is way over priced for what it is. I have been to cheaper and better in the DR. I was blinded by the name. Check in was a nightmare, hotel was overbooked, staff was not prepared to handle the big volume of guest. Rooms are not that great, they look a lot better in pictures and the difference between the cheaper one and the next one up is a bigger balcony... Check out was ok. The staff is amazing, the butlers, the bartenders, the concierge, they are great! But the higher the position the more arrogant they get. They treat you like they are doing you a favor, like you are not paying any money. I have a very bad experience, I had requested a honeymoon package from the beginning, Emailing them for months regarding the honey moon package and an upgrade to royalty. They never got back to me. When I got there My room wasn't ready. No honeymoon anything, no able to upgrade due to overbooking. I had to spend 2 days that I wasted completely of my vacation, sitting around, complaining to everybody. Finally got an upgrade on my second day and change of room as a "courtesy" we were promised that the honey moon stuff would be setup in there. We got there, no champagne, no cake, nothing... Just a room, same thing but bigger... Got the champagne 5 days later and the cake the day before leaving. And the room setup with petals etc 5 days later because my husband went to talk to someone and tipped someone... The spa was nice and was complimentary with the royalty package, 25 min massage, but at some point one of my butlers was told that they gave us the upgrade as a courtesy, the butlers didn't know that we went through hell during the 2 first day of stay and here there was some management telling them that? not sure if they did not wanted to give us the complete service or what. The butler managed to schedule the massages and I did not say anything because I did not want to get him in trouble, I explained the situation to him and he was great to us. Honeymoon ruined...
